A Venda. Faro.

Imagine a trip back in time to the years of your grandparents, that is what A Venda suggests you. A Venda is more than a shop, and is more than a restaurant. You don't feel like you entered either one or another. If you are portuguese you'll recognize on the shelves objects and brands that you used to see in your grandmother's kitchen. The food, at least the one that we tried, it is not something that your grandmother would cook, but for sure she is the inspiration for it. The traditional recipes are reinvented with a new ingredient, a new flavour, a new presentation. The taste, that one, is amazing.
After some months wanting to do it, we finally went to a Venda today, few days before Martyna had a lunch there with her friend. The food served was: toasted garlic bread with tomato and artichoke and zucchini soup for starter and fresh pasta with mushrooms, dried tomatoes and feta cheese as delicious main dish. Today octopus was the main dish, and prepared more or less the same way - lagareiro style - seitan was the second option. The starter of the day was garlic toast with portuguese goat cheese and spicy jam on top. We ordered both main dishes and we shared. We couldn't decide which one was better. For dessert: sweet potato cheesecake with chocolate - delicious. See the pictures, and feel invited.
